Toronteau 💙

Made with love
for Toronto

My two-year-old loves trains, or as he calls them, “choo choos.” I built this Toronteau GO Train website so we can see how long until the next train comes through, how far away it is, and plan our little train-watching adventures.

If Toronto’s your happy place too, say hi.

About this GO train project

Built for little train watchers

A small note about why this GO train site exists and what I hope it helps people do.

My two-year-old loves trains, or as he calls them, “choo choos.” I built this Toronteau GO Train website so we can see how long until the next train comes through, how far away it is, and plan our little train-watching adventures.

The best civic tools are sometimes the ones that help you answer a tiny question at exactly the right moment.

Why this exists

I wanted a page that felt quick, calm, and useful on a phone. If we are standing near a station, I want to know whether we should hurry, linger, or go find a snack before the next train rolls through.

What it tries to do

The goal is simple: show station boards, route pages, and live maps in a way that feels friendly enough for a parent and useful enough for a transit nerd. It is a little practical and a little sentimental.

What comes next

I will keep shaping this around real trips, real station visits, and the tiny rituals that make a city feel like home. Better mobile details, clearer train movement, and more helpful station pages are all fair game.
